Fake Radiosity...  by Rodluc2001 - HOME :)
Use Radiosity scene generator for make this automatically !

taking cue from the great tutorial by Robert Czarny I have tried some experiments in order to simulate the radiosity in Vue.
The necessity is been born after to have played a little bit with 3d studio max 6 and to have seen in function the brightness Mental Ray.
The test consists in realizing a vase in glass hit from one light, trying to recreate brightness effects and caustics refraction

Default Vue light...

the first result with the values of atmosphere standard of Vue (sunshine Puff) show a flat image without variations of color and light for the presence of a glass object

Also Highlights

Less ambient light, more light balance...

A lower exposition and a darker image concur than to render the result less flat, (exposure -0,78:: light balance 91%:: ambient light 5%)

Add some "ambient" lights...

the light acclimatizes them to 5% must  be replaced from a real ambient light  (radiosity:D) obtains this result nearly adding 10 sun light with softness of 25%, extremely dark ("almost black") and with point tracking to the camera

Caustics simulation e indirect illumination

Simply a point light in the base of vase for more shining... and place two light gel spot light (with the material of floor as gel) oriented trough the wall for simulating a little yellow reflection...

final touch

two point lights without shadows and flare in front of vase...

first image (320x240 - 1 light) time to render 1m.30s. last image (640x480 - 17 lights) time to render 3h.40m.40s.
